He was found guilty on several counts

A 19-year-old convicted resident of the Dalmatovo District will spend 12 years in a maximum security correctional colony, reports the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kurgan Region.

He was found guilty of torture, threats to kill, illegal entry into a home, intentional damage to someone else’s property, as well as attempted murder of two persons, committed in a generally dangerous manner.

Last summer, a young man systematically beat an 18-year-old girl, including with household objects, and threatened to kill her.

On July 7, after another quarrel, he entered her house, caused bodily harm to the girl’s mother, and then filled the entryway with flammable liquid and set it on fire. The victims escaped by climbing out of the window.

While the investigation was ongoing, the attacker was in custody.
