A major fire occurred this afternoon in a 5-story residential building on Lenina, 22 in Kovdor. Information about the incident was received via a single number at 11.26.
– At 11.39, firefighters completely extinguished the fire, as a result of which furniture, a mattress and personal belongings were burned on the fourth floor in one of the rooms of a two-room apartment. The walls and ceiling of the room are smoked throughout the entire area, the Department for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of the Murmansk Region reported.
Two people were rescued from the apartment; they were injured from the fire, transferred to an emergency medical team, and hospitalized.
The cause of the fire and the damage from it remain to be determined.
