On April 23-24, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Ecology of the Native Land: Problems and Solutions” was held in Kirov at the Vyatka State University (VyatSU). The KCCHK branch of Uralchem UCC JSC traditionally acted as a partner of the event.
The conference is being held at the university for the 19th time, but this year it received international status due to the participation of scientists from China, India, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Uzbekistan. The event was dedicated to the decade of science and technology, the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the 80th anniversary of the Komi Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the 650th anniversary of the city of Kirov.
The program included a plenary session and thematic sections, during which environmental issues were considered: from regional problems and ways to solve them to the formation of environmental literacy and education. In addition, the results of the youth competition of research, design and creative works “My Favorite City” were summed up, and a traveling variable exhibition “Vyatka. City of impressions. Version 2″.
For many years, Uralchem has been fruitfully cooperating with VyatGU. Collaboration continues in the field of research activities together with the biomonitoring laboratory.

Environmental problems are not just the subject of narrow expert discussions. Developing a real strategy to solve them requires combining the efforts of the authorities, public organizations, business structures and the scientific community. It’s great that Uralchem is joining this and continues to adhere to the principles of sustainable development.
