On April 26, in Tver, we said goodbye to one of the founders of the hockey school in our city, Arseny Nikolaevich Danilin. He died on April 24 at the age of 77 after a long illness.

Arseny Nikolaevich dedicated his life to hockey. Danilin played for the SKA (Kalinin) youth team in the USSR championship, then played for the famous Rainbow team. After finishing his playing career, he worked as a coach at a children’s and youth hockey school, and studied at the Higher School of Coaches under the guidance of the famous coach of CSKA and the USSR national team Anatoly Tarasov. He was a member of the coaching staff of the Tver hockey club.

The work and professionalism of the highest category coach Arseny Nikolaevich Danilin has been repeatedly awarded with various awards. Thus, he was awarded the honorary title “Honorary Worker of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism of the Tver Region.” The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation awarded Arseny Danilin with the badge “Excellence in Physical Culture and Sports.”

The civil funeral service took place this morning at the Yubileiny Sports Palace. “This is a huge loss for all of us. A talented mentor, a wonderful person and our friend has passed away,” noted the Tverichi hockey club.
