Illegal fishing has been suppressed in the Altai Republic. This was reported by the regional department of the Russian Guard.
The preventive raid was carried out by officers of the Shonkor riot police and inspectors of the Verkhneobsky territorial department of the Federal Agency for Fisheries. They detained two residents of Biysk who were illegally fishing in the waters of Ishi.
A report was drawn up against the men for violating the rules regulating fishing. Illegally caught fish from the carp and pike families, as well as more than 200 meters of fixed nets, were confiscated from them. Such nets cannot be used for recreational fishing.
According to the department, the extraction of aquatic biological resources in the region is prohibited from April 25 to May 25. In water bodies of fishery importance in the Kosh-Agach and Ust-Koksinsky districts, the ban will last until June 20.
Joint raids of the Russian Guard and fisheries protection will continue.
