Today, April 26, preparations for the summer health campaign of 2024 were discussed in Kaluga. The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Konstantin Gorobtsov, Minister of Education and Science of the region Alexander Anikeev, representatives of relevant departments, and heads of country health camps.

Much attention was paid not only to increasing the number of recreational facilities for Kaluga children, but also for children from neighboring regions, including the Belgorod region and LPR. It was noted that last year 357 children aged from seven to 17 years from the sponsored Pervomaisk (LPR) vacationed in the region. This year it is planned to organize recreation for 250 children living in Pervomaisk, based on the Druzhba camp (Maloyaroslavetsky district). According to Alexander Anikeev, in August an interregional specialized IT session will be held in Kaluga, in which about 200 children from new regions of Russia and the Belgorod region will take part.

“There are more places in the region for organizing year-round recreation for children. This policy will continue to be pursued. We will increase the number of children’s camps, sanatoriums, and recreation centers. We have big plans for the Zvezdny sanatorium, where there are about 300 beds for year-round use. We will resolve the issue of transferring the sanatorium buildings from the Ministry of Health to the Ministry of Education and Science of the region. And there are also prospects for other recreation centers, for example, the Polet camp in the science city, so that it can also be used all year round,”

– noted Konstantin Gorobtsov.

Our information:

In the region, more than 80 thousand children and adolescents will be covered by summer recreation, health improvement and employment. There are 20 country children’s camps, two sanitary and recreational camps and one tent camp in the region. About 540 children and teenagers from the region will rest in health camps on the Black Sea coast.

Since the beginning of 2024, the region has accepted more than 560 children from the Belgorod region.
