In the Krasnooktyabrsky district the day before, on April 25, at three o’clock in the afternoon, a fire and rescue service dispatcher received a message about a fire. A wooden house was burning on Zhitomirskaya Street, where rescuers rushed. The fire was extinguished at 16:00 by fire crews of the 2nd fire and rescue unit, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Volgograd Region reported.
Unfortunately, at the site of the ashes, the body of a 48-year-old man who lived alone in the house was discovered. According to preliminary data, the fire started due to careless handling of fire while smoking.
“In addition to thermal burns, no other visible injuries were found on the body, an inspection is being carried out,” said Daria Buyanova, senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for the Volgograd Region.
