The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, after reconstruction, opened the emergency department of the city clinical hospital No. 24 on the street. Pistsovaya as part of the transition to a new standard of emergency care. After the reconstruction, five more departments of city hospitals also began accepting patients.

The mayor noted that about a million emergency patients are admitted to hospital emergency departments in Moscow every year. The health and life of many Muscovites largely depend on the work of emergency medical care. That is why new standards for emergency care were approved, and this year their large-scale implementation in Moscow clinics began.

“We are building new buildings, reconstructing and modernizing existing ones. So that by the end of the year the vast majority of Moscow clinics will switch to the new standard. These are new logistics, new diagnostic equipment, a new operating room and, most importantly, fast and high-quality care for patients. A big consideration for anyone who comes in with a complex emergency situation,” he clarified.

Sobyanin expressed gratitude to the medical team for their work.

In addition, according to the press service of the mayor and government of Moscow, on April 26, after the update, emergency departments opened in several hospitals in Moscow – in City Clinical Hospital No. 13 in the South-Eastern Administrative District, the Konchalovsky City Clinical Hospital in the ZelAO, the Zhadkevich City Clinical Hospital in ZAO, the Filatov Children’s City Clinical Hospital and the Research Institute of Emergency pediatric surgery and traumatology in the Central Administrative District.

The complete modernization of the reception department of City Clinical Hospital No. 24 began in July 2023 and was completed in April 2024. As a result of work carried out on an area of about 2.2 thousand square meters. m, it was possible to increase the capacity of the emergency department by 15–20%, providing the ability to receive up to 200 emergency patients per day.

After reconstruction, the emergency department was equipped with modern equipment and a “digital clinic” was introduced, where medical documentation is mainly maintained in electronic format. The department employs 65 people, including 23 doctors and 18 nurses.

The transition to a new standard of emergency care will reduce the total time of care by 1.5 times, and will also ensure a complete examination and diagnosis in 70% of patients within two hours from the time of hospitalization. The number of emergency operations will increase by 15%

In Moscow, more than a thousand ambulance teams are on duty every day, making more than 4 million visits a year. Every year, more than a million emergency patients are admitted to Moscow hospitals, accounting for 60% of all hospitalizations.
