Heavy rain expected in some areas of Komi

According to a statement by the Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring of Komi, heavy rainfall will occur in a number of regions of the republic on April 27, from the morning of 6 o’clock to the evening of 18 o’clock.

It is expected that the volume of precipitation may be 15 millimeters or more over the specified period of time. The Udora, Knyazhpogostsky, Ust-Vymsky, Ust-Kulomsky, Ukhtinsky and Troitsko-Pechora districts will be affected by this bad weather.

Due to the predicted worsening of weather conditions, the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Komi Republic calls on residents of these areas to exercise increased caution. Residents are advised to avoid being in open areas, postpone plans for hikes, visits to forest areas and access to bodies of water, as well as cancel trips and participation in public events.

Motorists are advised to be especially vigilant on the roads by driving at a safe distance from each other, sticking to posted speed limits and, where possible, avoiding long-distance travel.
