In Kaluga, on the eve of Victory Day, a regional parade of formations and songs was held

--

On April 26, 48 teams from 17 municipal districts of the region came to Theater Square to take part in the traditional event dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 8th anniversary of the formation of the largest children’s and youth military-patriotic movement “Yunarmia” .

Today, there are more than one and a half million guys across the country in the ranks of the Yunarmiya, and the Kaluga regional branch is one of the best. Teams from the region take an active part in international, all-Russian, regional, and municipal events and worthily represent the Kaluga region.

The organizer of the regional parade of formation and song is the Educational and Methodological Center for Military-Patriotic Education and Training of Citizens for Military Service. The panel of judges includes professional military personnel and representatives of law enforcement agencies – those who themselves have experience in drill training.

“Interest in such events is growing,” says Alexander Pogudin, director of the State Budgetary Institution KO “UMC VPV”, head of the Kaluga regional headquarters of the All-Russian military-patriotic movement “YUNARMYA”. “This is both a decoration of the city and a tribute to the memory and respect of the grandfathers and great-grandfathers who gave us Victory. Today, cadets and youth members will demonstrate their drill skills and sing patriotic songs. Since the beginning of the Youth Army movement, the level of training of the guys has been growing year by year. Each team strives to win and wants to adequately represent its municipal district or urban district. Thanks to such events, the spirit of patriotism among our youth also grows. This is very important, because in the future the younger generation will have to defend the Motherland.

More than 700 review participants came to the square. All the teams lined up in front of the drama theater building under the Youth Army flags; many had smart uniforms and a truly military bearing. A military brass band created a festive, solemn mood.

The review of formations and songs began with the appearance of a banner group with the state flag of Russia and the flag of the Youth Army movement, and the Russian anthem was played.

The teams’ performance was opened by the youngest participants in the parade of formations and songs – pupils of the Scarlet Flower kindergarten. A demonstration performance was presented by the youth members of secondary school No. 16 named after. I. F. Milekhina. Then, to the sounds of military marches, all the detachments marched across the square.

Guests of honor, including veterans, military personnel, representatives of law enforcement agencies and public organizations, addressed the participants with welcoming remarks. They emphasized the huge role of continuity of generations in the matter of patriotic education and wished the children successful performance and new victories and achievements.

The Chairman of the Kaluga regional branch of the All-Russian public organization “Russian Union of Veterans” Alexey Timofeevich Gunko presented the “Young Zhukovets” medal to young army member Ivan Zhelnov and the “Patriot of Russia” medal to Polina Kubasova, a specialist in working with youth at the Center for Military-Patriotic Education.

By the decision of the jury, first place was awarded to the “Girls” team of the Kaluga Cadet Multidisciplinary College and the “Heirs of Victory” team of secondary school No. 45 in Kaluga.

Second place was won by the teams “Fakel” of the Babyninsky district and “Phoenix” of the Sukhinichi district.

Third place went to the “Team named after A. Polenkov” of the Dzerzhinsky district and the “Sokol” team of the Baryatinsky district.
