The reconstruction project of the Nizhny Novgorod Philharmonic Hall is being prepared for state examination. The documentation is currently being finalized and is planned to be sent for approval after the May holidays. Deputy Governor Oleg Berkovich spoke about this during the presentation of the event program of the Volga region capital for 2024.

The renovation will affect the hall, which is awaiting a facelift, as well as the technical spaces behind it, the speaker noted. The final cost of the work is still unknown: it is planned to be determined by the end of June. It is expected that the necessary funding will be provided for 2025.

The original plan was, to be honest with you, start work this summer. But until we see the final cost, I won’t tell you about the timing,” added Oleg Berkovich.

Let us remind you that first stage of reconstruction The Nizhny Novgorod Philharmonic named after Rostropovich celebrated the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod. The building, recognized as a cultural heritage site of federal significance, has had its façade and three floors renovated. Internal public spaces were decorated with laconic, light interiors with modern furniture, installations, new parquet flooring and multimedia equipment.

We previously told you that the repairs were carried out and in a large concert hall Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatory named after Mikhail Glinka. The building at 40 Piskunova Street is also recognized as an architectural monument.
