Maxim Egorov discussed with Gennady Krasnikov the creation of a technopark of agricultural biotechnologies in the Tambov region

A technology park may appear in the region for the development of agricultural biotechnologies and the “green” economy. The initiative of the Head of the region, Maxim Egorov, was supported by the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Gennady Krasnikov, who is currently on a working visit to the Tambov region.

Having spent the whole day in the Tambov region and visited a number of educational organizations, RAS President Gennady Krasnikov meets with the Head of the region, Maxim Egorov. The Tambov region is interested in developing cooperation with the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Maxim Egorov, Head of the Tambov region: “We now face many tasks in key areas of technological specialization in the region, including in the field of agriculture, ecology, IT, and technical developments. And in this work, I would propose to rely on the capabilities of the Russian Academy of Sciences and discuss the prospects for jointly developing a program for the scientific and technological development of the region.”

Interest in science begins during school years, the Head of the region is sure. Specialized schools help children decide on a subject of study and a future profession. One of the first such schools in the region was the Tatanovskaya Agricultural School. The day before, this institution received the First National Prize in the field of career guidance. Gennady Krasnikov supports the initiative to create a platform in the region for the joint development of school agro-engineering education. The head of the RAS also considers Maxim Egorov’s proposal to implement a project for the development of agricultural biotechnologies in the region to be relevant.

Gennady Krasnikov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences: “We discussed, when I was here at Tambov Technical University, issues related to the creation in the field of nanomaterials, and in the field of biotechnology, and those areas that are necessary for agriculture. I here support the need to somehow formalize the development of these areas in some format. Maybe we should create such a technology park, create a good technical council.”

The dialogue continued in the north of Tambov. Last year, on the initiative of the Head of the region, Maxim Egorov, a festival was held here, which gave the city the “Mentor Quarter”. 10 murals were created on the facades of high-rise buildings in honor of famous people and their mentors. One of them is dedicated to Gennady Krasnikov and his teacher and friend Zhores Alferov. Tambov is the birthplace of the head of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Gennady Krasnikov and Maxim Egorov discussed how young people could not only receive a quality education here, but also remain to work in their native land, developing its potential.

Maxim Egorov, Head of the Tambov region: “You all know that we entered 32 pilot regions to develop a textbook on local history for grades 5-7. We asked the Russian Academy of Sciences and independent historical institutes to carry out their independent examination.”

Gennady Krasnikov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences: “We are ready to direct our strength and knowledge here so that this noble region flourishes. Of course, it is very important that all this starts from school, from youth. This is our special task, I think. We also discussed how to ensure that not only gifted children develop here, but that they stay here as much as possible and invest their knowledge as much as possible in the development of the Tambov region.”

Based on the results of the meeting, a cooperation agreement will be prepared between the Regional Government and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
