In Ryazan, the memory of the liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident was honored. The press service of the City Duma reported this on April 26.

The ceremony took place in the park of the 26 Baku Commissioners. Liquidators, representatives of the Ryazan City and Regional Duma, regional ministries and departments laid flowers at the memorial.

Tatiana Panfilovahead of the Ryazan City Duma:

“Today we pay tribute to the feat of brave, strong-willed people. They, without sparing themselves, stood in the way of the deadly spread of radiation. I thank each of you and all those who are no longer with us for your loyalty to duty, for your courage and self-sacrifice for the sake of the future.”
