The young correspondent of the Arctic School media center, Dayaana Prokopyeva, spoke with Anastasia Danilova, a participant in the “Russia” exhibition and forum. On January 26, 2024, she represented Yakutia at Ecology Day in Moscow. Let’s take a closer look at her impressions and experience of participating in such a large-scale event in an interview.
– Good afternoon! The guest of our column is Danilova Anastasia Vasilievna, teacher at the Arctic School and children’s writer. Tell us about your trip to the exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNKh in Moscow.
— I went at the end of January at the invitation of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic. I talked about northern fairy tales based on the traditions of the peoples of Sakha, about the relationship to nature as a divine principle. People, especially children, were interested in learning about this.
— What was your purpose of the trip?
— We went to represent Yakutia at Ecology Day at VDNKh. We told you what educational work is being carried out, what unique projects and differences there are. There was a very big response – people came up several times and asked to be photographed. They were delighted with our costumes and illustrations.
-What do you remember most about this exhibition-forum?
— We were invited to the main stage, where the best of the best performed. We had to wait a very long time, but there was one little girl from Bashkiria dressed in a pink seagull costume. She, like a soldier, stood firm and never even cried.
— What new things have you learned or discovered for yourself?
— I realized that such platforms provide an opportunity to meet like-minded people. This is how I met writers from other regions who also wrote about ecology. I also realized that it was worth taking children there in groups from all over Yakutia, because there is a strong concentration of innovation and creativity there. The exhibition presents cultures from all regions – and a month would not be enough to see everything. The exhibitions are updated every day, so even a person who has already visited the exhibition will have something to look at.
