On April 26, fountains began operating in Ryazan, the mayor’s office reported. They are turned on one by one: the first is the fountain on Teatralnaya Square, the next is on Lybidsky Boulevard. In total, nine fountains will operate in the city this year, including two new ones – in the Cathedral Square and the Trade Town.

Before switching on, all fountains underwent re-preservation work: they removed the protective domes, installed equipment, in particular pumps that were dismantled for the winter, cleaned the bowls, checked the electrical equipment and nozzles. The bowls are then filled with water and a test run is carried out. In general, the process of preparing each fountain for summer operation takes from several days to a week.

The fountains will operate depending on weather conditions, with technical shutdowns once or twice a month to clean the bowls and replace the water.
