Abuses in the use of maternity capital are observed in certain regions of the Russian Federation.

The Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, Anton Kotyakov, spoke about this on April 26 at a meeting of the Council of Legislators in St. Petersburg.

“Today we see in certain territories abuses by individual individuals in the use of maternity capital funds. It is important for us to jointly form interdepartmental commissions at the regional level that would confirm the status of housing so that it is suitable for living,” he said.

It was previously reported that more than 180 thousand families received maternity capital in 2024.
