The RFU stated that Alania did not apply for the RFU-1 license, which is needed to compete in the RPL

The head of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Alexander Dyukov, said that the condition of the Vladikavkaz Alania stadium does not yet allow matches to be held there.

— Alania’s stadium was not ready for March. There is no stadium yet,” a Match TV correspondent reports Dyukov’s words.

RFU General Secretary Maxim Mitrofanov clarified that the club has not applied for the RFU-1 license, which is necessary to play in the RPL.

“Alania” ranks eighth in the MELBET First League standings. The team has 40 points in 28 matches. Due to the reconstruction of the home arena, the club hosts opponents at the Akhmat Arena in Grozny.

Last season, Alania took third place in the First League, but was unable to take part in the transition matches between the MIR RPL and the First League due to the refusal to issue a license to the RFU-1.

In January it was reported that the reconstruction of the Alanya stadium is planned to be completed in the spring of 2024.

Watch live broadcasts of First League games on the Match TV and MATCH PREMIER TV channels, as well as on the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
