Today, the sixth All-Russian event “Victory Dictation” took place throughout the country. In Kaluga, there were four large sites for writing: Kaluga State University, the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, the Museum of Local Lore and the Ugra National Park, as well as dozens of local sites.

The dictation is a test of the level of knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War. The test contains 25 questions. The main part, including 20 questions, concerns key military-historical topics, and the remaining 5 questions address regional features of the war. Historians and representatives of public associations from different countries were involved in creating questions for the dictation.

– The action is aimed at ensuring that participants “pass through” the events of the Great Patriotic War, thereby being able to expand their knowledge. Even mistakes and incorrect answers play an important role. They push a person to think, force him to look for additional information to fill gaps in knowledge. The desire for self-improvement contributes to the preservation of historical memory,” noted Vitaly Bessonov, general director of the Kaluga United Museum-Reserve, regional coordinator of the “Historical Memory” party project.

Students who successfully complete the “Victory Dictation” are given the opportunity to receive additional points when entering higher educational institutions.
