On April 25, an event dedicated to the long-term cooperation between the South Ural capital and the Republic of Crimea was held at the Regional Public Support Headquarters in Chelyabinsk. The meeting was timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the annexation of the peninsula to Russia.

The event participants were told about the work of Chelyabinsk activists in Sevastopol and the Republic of Crimea. In the United State Archive of the Chelyabinsk Region, a famous photojournalist Pavel Bolshakov and Chairman of the Council of Chiefs of Military Units, Deputy Director of the Avangard Center Igor Mikhailov photographic materials and documents were handed over, telling about the unique experience of ten years of cooperation with military personnel, civil activists, local governments in Crimea and the Chelyabinsk-Zlatoust-Sevastopol-Armensk-Zlatoust motor rally, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Crimean offensive operation.

Igor Mikhailov at the beginning of the meeting, he emphasized the contribution of the Chelyabinsk region to the “Crimean Spring”, which ended with the annexation of Crimea to Russia.

Chelyabinsk, the Chelyabinsk region and the people who here in the hall represent its most energetic and active part took a direct part in the events of 2014. Not everyone, unfortunately, due to the nature of our service, can be present here, but at the beginning of our meeting I convey my greetings and best wishes: health, success in service… We would like to start our meeting today with a story: everyone sitting in this hall and comrades outside – we are not just witnesses to the process, we are creators and, to some extent, accomplices in this activity. Therefore, it is no coincidence that colleagues from the United State Archive of the Chelyabinsk Region are taking part in our meeting“, – said Igor Mikhailov.

Handing over photographic documents to OGACHO employees, a member of the Writers’ Union of Russia Pavel Bolshakov called on others to also take care of the preservation of historical sources and spoke about his participation in the transfer of South Ural gifts to the commander of a formation of large landing ships in Sevastopol.

Then we brought three checkers from the Zlatoust plant – the ship’s commander asked. Because the removal of the banner is accompanied by checkers… And we brought these checkers to solemnly present,” – noted Pavel Bolshakov.

Also during the event, the distinguished organizers of the collection of humanitarian support for military personnel performing official tasks in a special military operation were honored, and military personnel from among the SVO participants were awarded.
