The Governor of the Murmansk Region spoke at the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs

The head of the region spoke about how the North is developing and what tasks remain to be achieved in the future.

Andrey Chibis noted that the Murmansk region has become a leader in attracting investment. Domestic regional product per capita increased 2.5 times. This indicator allows the region to rank 10th in Russia.

Actual investments amounted to 1.2 trillion rubles, the set of structured and ready-to-implement projects for the next 10 years exceeds 3 trillion rubles, which will give the region an impetus to even more rapid development.

Important projects that are being implemented with the help of Phosagro, Norilsk Nickel and Eurochem were noted.

– I take this opportunity to invite all our partners and colleagues to cooperate in this direction. Today, taking into account the president’s instructions, the government and I are working on the issue of increasing the carrying capacity of the railway infrastructure. “Many thanks to Russian Railways and our government colleagues for their support,” noted Andrey Chibis.

Another area of ​​strategic importance for the country is lithium. Thanks to the active support of the government, geological exploration of deposits was carried out. Based on the results of studying volumes, Russia may become one of the top three in terms of reserves.

– We plan not only to extract raw materials in the Murmansk region, but also to process these raw materials at the Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company, producing active cathode materials that will provide our industry with the necessary products. This is another serious point of growth,” the governor noted.

Andrey Chibis thanked his industrial colleagues.

– We have joint agreements with almost everyone. What is fundamentally important is that over the past 5 years, the volume of investments and additional tax deductions in the development of cities in the territories where industrial companies operate, where their employees live, has increased 5 times compared to the previous five-year period. For this, many thanks, first of all, to our partners – Norilsk Nickel, PhosAgro, NOVATEK, Rosatom, Eurochem – for really paying attention to the territories where our residents and your employees live and work, – thanked head of the region.
