A preventive meeting with employees of one of the enterprises of the regional center was held by the deputy head of police department No. 2 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Kurgan, Svetlana Vodennikova, and a representative of the service of local police commissioners, Dmitry Suslov.

Law enforcement officers talked with the workforce about how to avoid becoming a victim of crimes committed using IT technologies. The police urged citizens to be wary of calls coming from unfamiliar subscriber numbers and not to communicate with strangers on topics related to finances, loans, and bank accounts. Under no circumstances should you give confidential information to strangers or perform any actions with money following their instructions.

Police officers also noted that one should not trust offers of easy money, invest and invest their savings by transferring to unknown bank accounts and Internet platforms.

You should be vigilant when using free classifieds sites. By transferring funds to pay for a purchase before it is actually received, there is a risk of becoming a victim of scammers. If you are selling a product, you do not need to tell the potential buyer your bank card details, such as its expiration date, the code on the back, and passwords from SMS messages.
