The Tula branch of the State Historical Museum opened the exhibition “Russian Wedding. Traditions and rituals”

In Tula, the branch of the State Historical Museum opened the exhibition “Russian Wedding. Traditions and rituals.” It is timed to coincide with the Year of the Family and is dedicated to the rituals of Russian weddings. On April 26, Governor Alexey Dyumin visited the museum. The head of the region congratulated the residents of Tula and the museum staff on the opening of the exhibition and noted the importance of preserving traditions and values.

“Many of them have been forgotten and lost over the past decades. Today it is very important to preserve and honor our history, to pass on family traditions from generation to generation,” said Alexey Dyumin.

The governor expressed confidence that in 2024 the branch of the State Historical Museum will host many more interesting events, and also thanked the museum and its director Alexei Levykin for the idea of holding such an exhibition and, in general, for the implementation of large-scale projects in the Tula region.

Visitors will be able to see monuments of decorative and applied art from the collection of the State Historical Museum, including everyday items associated with the wedding ceremony, as well as canvases, costumes, icons, crowns and traditional festive clothing. The exhibition will be open until August 19.
