On April 26, at the Tula branch of the State Historical Museum (GIM), Governor Alexey Dyumin took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition “Russian Wedding. Traditions and rituals.”

“Congratulations on the opening of a wonderful exhibition dedicated to the Year of the Family and dedicated to the traditions and rituals of Russian weddings. Many of them have been forgotten and lost over the past decades. Today it is very important to preserve and honor our history and pass on family traditions from generation to generation. I am sure that this year the museum will host many more interesting events,” said Alexey Dyumin.

The exhibition features one of the museum’s most striking collections, offering visitors the opportunity to remember the history of one of the most important and ancient rituals.

Visitors will see the monuments arts and crafts art from the collection of the State Historical Museum, including everyday objects associated with the wedding ceremony; paintings, costumes, icons, church crowns, traditional festive clothes, girls’ and women’s headdresses, including Tula ones.

The exhibition can be visited until August 19.

Tell everyone about it!
