An open city folk art festival will be held in Nizhny Novgorod on April 27

An open city folk art festival will take place in Nizhny Novgorod. According to the city department of education, “Nizhny Novgorod Expanse” will be held on April 27 at the MAOU “School No. 131”.

According to the department, 108 creative groups and solo performers took part in the qualifying stage. As a result of the selection, 40 performances in five categories will be presented at the festival.

The festival program consists of two parts. The first will feature participants in the nominations “Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments”, “Musical and Instrumental Art” and “Vocal Art”. In the second, spectators will be delighted by participants in the nominations “Choreography”, “Folklore Theater” and “Spoon Ensembles”.

For festival guests, specialists from the Shchelokovsky Khutor Architectural and Ethnographic Museum-Reserve prepared folk games. They will take place before the start of the departments.

The festival was organized by the Department of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod Administration and the Palace of Children’s (Youth) Creativity named after V.P. Chkalova.
