In total, instead of 40 carriages, 60 buses and electric buses will be released on the routes.
Details of the upcoming changes were discussed at a working group meeting at the Yaroslavl City Hall.
Thus, tram route No. 1, operating in the direction “Sverdlova Street” – “Chkalova Street”, will be replaced by the bus route “Torgovy Lane” – “Avtozavodskaya Street”, as well as an electric bus “Avtozavodskaya Street” – “Rykacheva Street”. It is assumed that the traffic interval will remain the same as with trams – 5 minutes.
The fifth tram will replace the bus with the route “Ulitsa Avtozavodskaya” – “Factory “Red Pass”.
“The interval of movement of the bus route will be the same as that of the tram, and will be 6 minutes during peak hours on weekdays, 10 – 12 minutes during off-peak hours and weekends,” the authorities noted.
Tram No. 7 is compensated by redirecting electric bus No. 50 to Trufanova Street. On weekdays, the interval will be reduced from 13 to 10 minutes, and on weekends from 15 to 12 minutes.
— We are setting the overall carrying capacity higher than that of a tram, that is, we are replacing 40 tram cars with 60 units of buses and electric buses. All routes will be served by large class vehicles. It is clear that there is a feature – a dedicated lane for trams, but it is through increased production and synchronization of schedules that we will compensate for the nuances of the overall traffic flow, – noted I. It remains to be reminded that tram traffic will be closed in Yaroslavl from August 1 – this is necessary for the reconstruction of tram tracks on overpasses. The work is planned to be completed within a year.
