A discussion meeting on the topic of domestic violence was held in one of the psychological assistance centers in Samara | 04/26/2024 | Samara

Rubbish that is not customary to take out of the hut. Abusive relationships are becoming the norm for many families today. Domestic violence can be different: beatings, humiliation, creating conditions of financial dependence. When abuse begins, what can life with the aggressor lead to and why does the victim remain silent and not leave, taking what is happening for granted?

Today in Samara, in one of the psychological assistance centers, a discussion meeting was held on the topic of domestic violence. It was attended by expert psychologists, victims of violence and those who would like to understand the topic of abuse and learn how to help loved ones who find themselves in such living conditions. The main thesis voiced by the experts: you just need to escape from an abusive relationship. The “monster” romanticized by fairy tales about the scarlet flower cannot be transformed into a “Prince Charming”! You shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help in order to see your life and understand what’s happening in it—you need to at least put the relationship on a long pause.

It’s not just the partners in a relationship who are victims of abuse: it can extend to children and elderly parents. Experts plan to discuss these and other aspects of domestic violence and abusive relationships regularly.
