The Face Pay facial recognition system went live at all metro stations in the capital on October 15, 2021, and more than 340 thousand people have already connected to it, Interfax reports.

Deputy Mayor of Moscow, head of the department of transport and development of road infrastructure of the city Maxim Liksutov said at the end of spring 2023 that, according to forecasts, about half a million people will begin to pay for travel using biometrics.

Currently, more than 340 thousand people use the new project payment system.

Earlier, in the Moscow metro, a man did not want to pay for the fare and started a fight. The victim required medical help.
