The transporter of the prohibited powder was caught in the area of Mostostroiteley Street. The man became noticeably nervous when people in uniform approached him, which prompted the search.
It turned out that the car the courier was driving was rented, and in the trunk, law enforcement officers found a large package wrapped in tape.
An investigative team with a dog handler and a search dog trained to search for narcotic drugs was called to the scene. After the shepherd indicated that the suspicious package might contain prohibited substances, it was sent for examination.
Based on the results of the examination, it turned out that the package contained 12 packages of mephedrone with a total weight of almost three kilograms, which is a particularly large size.
Subsequently, police officers conducted a search at the suspect’s place of residence. Detectives seized scales and packaging materials from his apartment. It has been previously established that a large batch of synthetics was taken by a resident of Arkhangelsk from a cache for further packaging and sale through caches in the region.
A criminal case has been initiated against the man. The defendant was taken into custody.
