At Orenburg State University, as part of a scientific conference for students, a section “University Schools” was held in the subsections “Geography” and “Local History”. The organizers of these subsections are the Orenburg regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society, the Youth Club of the Russian Geographical Society “Orenburg Region” and the Institute of Earth Sciences of OSU.
At the conference, students from Orenburg schools present their research works for defense. This year, 19 schoolchildren from Orenburg, Orenburg and Krasnogvardeisky districts sent their works on local history and geography.
The in-person defense of the projects took place on April 25 at the “Boiling Point” of OSU. The research topics covered a variety of questions: about the development of botanical tourism in the region, about the composition of Baikal water, about the influence of weather on people, and others.
The students showed deep passion for the topics of their research, mastery of terminology, and a high culture of discussion.
The results of defending projects will be announced later: based on the results of the correspondence and full-time stages.
