A new monument has appeared in Yaroslavl. A fire tanker was installed on the territory of the Main Directorate of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations on Red Square. The occasion is the anniversary of the Russian fire department. The service turned 375 years old. The date was celebrated with celebrations in several places. The floor goes to Alexander Zakharov.

The ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to “Heroes – Firefighters” opened a series of solemn events today. City and regional leaders, Emergency Situations Ministry employees, and fire department veterans took turns paying tribute to those killed in service. Then the opening of the monument took place. The AC-40 tanker truck once protected Yaroslavl from fire. After it was written off, employees restored it on their own for six months. The car reached Red Square under its own power from the repair base and will now always be located here.

Vadim Andyamov, head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Yaroslavl region:

“Today is very special for one simple reason, because it is our past. We really appreciate it, so I think today is the day that marks a new milestone for the fire department and maybe someday someone will say that it was at this moment that we delivered this fire tanker and a new era began.”

Many firefighters are on duty even on their holiday.

Artyom Molchanov, mayor of Yaroslavl:

“We are confident that our children, our families can feel calm and that no matter what happens, our valiant fire department will always come to the rescue. With great respect for veterans, with great respect for those who serve in the fire department today, today I conveyed words of gratitude from all residents of our city.”

Modern equipment is presented at the site near the Neftyanik cultural center. These are combat fire engines that are used in work.

Alexander Zakharov, correspondent:

“One of the exhibits is a fire armor shield that protects firefighters from fire, flying fragments and wave shocks. Two firefighters sit behind it and use this gun carriage to extinguish the fire.”

In the Palace of Culture itself there is a celebration in honor of the 375th anniversary of the fire service. Among those gathered is Dmitry Gritsak, a firefighter from Rybinsk, who himself has pulled people out of fire more than once. He says he entered the profession at the call of his soul.

Dmitry Gritsak, head of the 7th firefighting unit of the 2nd fire and rescue squad of the Federal Border Guard Service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Yaroslavl region:

“I think that this is a certain romance, that is, saving someone’s life or just ordinary help, it evokes certain emotions in people, kind, good emotions. I think. This is what people go for. Plus – to show your skills, some physical data, your good qualities. Our profession has all this.”

Those who distinguished themselves today were awarded for special services with certificates, letters of gratitude, badges and even promotion in rank.
