For the first time it took place at the site of the branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation. They test knowledge about the war of 1941-45 in schools, universities, airports, train stations, and long-distance trains. There are 27 thousand sites in total across the country. The winners will be invited to the Victory Parade on Red Square. A patriotic campaign has started in the Far East. The Yaroslavl residents joined her at noon. Details from my colleagues.

Today at the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation they solemnly presented the “Father of a Soldier” medals of public recognition. This is the second time such awards have been presented in our region. This is a symbol of continuity of generations, gratitude to parents who raised worthy warriors. For Nikolai Shabanov, the medal was received by his wife – husband and son Ilya in the Northern Military District zone.

Yulia Shabanova:

“My son studied in a patriotic club, jumped from parachutes, and has long wanted to be a military man. My husband was on business trips, in Dagestan, Chechnya, we have patriotism as our basis.”

The son of Alexei Tsarev, Artem, showed courage in the defense of the airport in Gostomel, where he and his comrades held the facility for 3 days until the main forces arrived. The Fathers of Russia movement started with helping families without a mother. With the beginning of a special military operation, a reward appeared.

Sergei Averkin, board member of the Fathers of Russia movement:

“In general, this is a great thing, when trouble begins in the country, fathers stand up to defend our country, our Fatherland.”

Today, the branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation presented letters of gratitude to its partners and thanked them for their cooperation. Among them is the City TV channel, which covers in its programs the work of the foundation, the holidays it organizes, and the events it holds.

Sergey Goncharov, General Director of City TV Channel JSC:

“We are proud to cooperate with the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation. We fully help, and we consider covering the activities of the foundation a priority for ourselves.”

Natalya Kravchuk, head of the branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation in the Yaroslavl region:

“Social partnership both influences and helps us. It’s good when all decisions are made by the team. Team decisions always with minimal risks. We have had reliable partners since June 1 last year, since the opening of the fund, so I would like to say thank you to all of them and each one individually.”

Today in Yaroslavl, as throughout the country, the Victory Dictation took place. The start was given from Moscow, from the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill. Yaroslavl residents answered the largest creative test, in which hundreds of thousands of people around the world participate. It is held for the 6th time and has already become an element of the celebration of Victory Day along with the St. George Ribbon and the Immortal Regiment. This year, the main topics were the 80th anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad, the liberation of Crimea and Belarus, and the anniversaries of front-line writers.
