Listeners share their emotions from Valery Gergiev’s concert in Yaroslavl

The train of the XXIII Moscow Easter Festival made a stop in the capital of the Golden Ring the day before, as reported by Main Television News. Two hours after arriving at the station, magical melodies of works by Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Berlioz and Ravel began to sound from the stage of the First Russian. Along with the maestro, musicians from the Mariinsky and Bolshoi theaters, representing the joint symphony orchestra, are touring Russian cities on the train. This year the festival runs from April 25 to May 16. Yaroslavl became the second city where the Moscow Easter train made a stop. Before us – Vologda. In the capital of the Golden Ring, People’s Artist Valery Gergiev, his orchestra and spectators were hosted by the Volkovsky Theater. In Yaroslavl, together with the orchestra, the maestro performed four famous works: a suite from the ballet “Firebird” by Igor Stravinsky, “Symphony Fantastique” by Hector Berlioz and “Pavanne to a Beauty Sleeping in the Forest…” by Maurice Ravel and a suite from the ballet “Romeo and Juliet” » Sergei Prokofiev. Moreover, the premiere of the ballet in the Soviet Union took place on the stage of the Kirov Theater, the current Mariinsky Theater. The main roles were then performed by the star duet – Galina Ulanova and Konstantin Sergeev, and the production was later awarded the Stalin Prize.

The Easter festival is held with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’. The forum will be held in several dozen cities. And the box next to “Yaroslavl” has already been ticked!
