In Japan, a girl asked men in love with her for help with her debts. In total, the scammer stole 155 million yen. The court sentenced her to a fine and nine years in prison.

A Japanese woman was caught cheating on a dating app. She lured 155 million yen (90.7 million rubles) from men in love with her, Lenta.ru reports.

Mai Watanabe, a 25-year-old Japanese woman, managed to deceive three men during her two and a half years of illegal activity. She communicated with them on dating sites, gaining their trust. After the victim fell in love with the scammer, she asked for help with debts that she supposedly could only pay off with her lover’s finances.

She was the first to deceive a 50-year-old man; they communicated from March 2021 to August 2023. The Japanese woman received 117 million yen (more than 68 million rubles) during this time.

The other two victims suffered between April and August 2023. In total, Watanabe lured out 38 million yen (more than 68 million rubles).

The court sentenced the Japanese woman to nine years in prison. Additionally, she will have to pay a fine of eight million yen (more than 4.5 million rubles).
