This year, the Chelyabinsk region received an additional 36 million rubles from the federal budget for its long-term care system. Thanks to these funds, 50 more South Urals residents will be able to count on caregivers as part of social services. Currently, services are provided to 510 residents of the Chelyabinsk region.
Social services provide free caregivers to participants of the Great Patriotic War and veterans of special military operations, as well as pensioners and disabled people who have almost completely lost the ability to self-care. Care assistants come to the home every day for four hours.
This program in the region was launched in 2022, and is currently operating in Chelyabinsk, Zlatoust, Ozersk, Magnitogorsk and Satka. An exception for WWII and SVO participants; they are looked after regardless of their place of residence.
In 2025, the project will spread to all municipalities of the Chelyabinsk region. More than 1.6 billion rubles have been allocated from the regional budget until 2026 for long-term care.
