Moscow. 26 April. INTERFAX.RU – A cold snap will come to the capital region on May 2, and by the next weekend the daytime temperature will drop to plus 11 degrees, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, said at a press conference.

“Gradually, the process of lowering the temperature (…) begins on May 2 – still comfortable, plus 6 – plus 11 at night, plus 15 – plus 20 during the day, short-term rain. But on May 3, daytime temperatures are about plus 15 degrees, and on May 4 and 5 – partly cloudy, light intermittent rain, but the temperature will drop – at night plus 1 – plus 6, during the day plus 11 – plus 16 degrees,” he said.

This temperature will be 2-3 degrees below normal.

Speaking about the coming weekend, Vilfand clarified that on Sunday, April 28, it will be cloudy with clearings, night temperatures will drop and will be from plus 3 to plus 8 degrees, daytime temperatures will be about plus 16 – plus 18 degrees. Air will come from the north and northwest, and rising pressure will make it sunny.

On Monday, April 29, the daytime temperature will be plus 20 – plus 22 degrees, which is 2-3 degrees above normal. April 30 will be a day up to plus 21. On May 1, short-term rain is predicted in some places in the capital region, at night plus 7 – plus 12 degrees, during the day – about plus 20, and in the south of the region – up to plus 24.

Earlier at the same press conference, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center noted that April 2024 in the capital, according to preliminary calculations, could take third place in the rank of the hottest Aprils. There will be more precipitation than normal in April. He also allowed gardeners in the center of the European part of Russia to begin work on their plots.
