Beeline showed the highest speeds on the M11 highway Moscow – St. Petersburg – April 26, 2024

An expert from the Telecom-Daily agency drove more than 650 km along the M11 Neva highway from Moscow to St. Petersburg and studied the availability of communications, as well as the Internet speed of the big four mobile operators.

In April 2024, the Telecom Daily agency tested communication on the road in Moscow, Moscow, Tver, Novgorod and Leningrad regions, as well as St. Petersburg. In the study, the expert used the TEMS measuring system (Test Mobile System Investigation – a system for analyzing the performance of cellular systems) and smartphones with SIM cards from four operators.

The analyst measured the Internet speeds of telecom operators. Beeline turned out to be the leader. The average 4G speed of the operator on the highway is 63.4 Mbit/s, and the peak value is 192 Mbit/s.

According to the agency, Beeline communication was available on more than half of the route. A strong 4G signal on the highway increases the level of safety. This is an opportunity to use navigation services: check the route, understand the situation on the road in advance, look for the nearest cafes and gas stations. Also, the availability of voice communications and mobile Internet helps customers stay in touch with loved ones.

It should be noted that Beeline previously significantly improved communications in Sapsan. The operator installed special amplifiers in the cars. Their task is to catch a signal from nearby base stations and transmit it inside the train. In this way, it was possible to create uniform coverage of the operator in the cars. Thanks to the work carried out, the average 4G speed has increased 3 times. In addition, clients are provided with uninterrupted access to the Internet throughout the entire journey from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
