Employees of the Department of Social Ministry and Church Charity of the Smolensk Diocese gathered to discuss the organization of upcoming events.

The meeting was attended by the head of the department, Priest Dionisy Davydov, the rector of the church in honor of John the Theologian, Priest Nikolai Davydov, sisters of mercy, and coordinators of directions. The preliminary results of the “Give Joy for Easter” campaign have been summed up.

The preparation of Easter gifts for those in our care has begun: the homeless, the poor, pensioners, and hospital patients. A preliminary schedule of field activities was drawn up.

Until the end of next week, Smolensk residents can make their contribution and donate gifts for the wards of the Smolensk sisterhood. As part of the event, it is planned to congratulate more than 1000 people.

Preparations for the traditional “Remember and Give Thanks” event, which will again be held with the support of the All-Russian “Give Food” fund, were also discussed. During congratulations on Victory Day, elderly people with the status of veterans, home front workers, children of war, living in Smolensk and the region will receive food packages. The packaging dates have been determined, in which the silver volunteers of the Smolensk Longevity club will also take part.

Those responsible for carrying out the May campaign to collect food for wards “Basket of Kindness” were identified.
