Aaron Sorkin accused the social network of influencing democracy in the United States

Oscar winner for the adapted screenplay for the acclaimed drama “The Social Network,” Aaron Sorkin has confirmed his plans to write a script for the sequel, which explores the impact of the social platform on democracy in the United States. While appearing on The Town podcast, the writer blamed the social platform for what “happened on January 6th” and announced his intention to write about it. When asked to share details of the plot of the project, which will tell about the storming of the Capitol building by supporters of then-US President Donald Trump, Aaron Sorkin, well, going into speculation, said: “You will have to buy a movie ticket for this.”

Over the past few years, Aaron Sorkin has repeatedly talked about the prospect of a sequel to The Social Network, in which he would like to explore “its dark side.” At the same time, he made it clear that he would write a script for the film only if David Fincher was appointed director.
