American rap artist Marshall Bruce Mathers III, better known as Eminem, announced the release of his 12th studio album entitled The Death of Slim Shady, Zakon.kz reports.
According to Variety magazine, the character Slim Shady is Eminem’s alter ego, and the musician repeatedly mentioned him in his early works.
The trailer for Eminem’s new album was published on the social network X. In the video, a character reporter specializing in crime stories talks about the death of Eminem’s alter ego, the fictional character Slim Shady.
“With his complex and often criticized rhymes, the anti-hero known as Slim Shady had no shortage of enemies,” says the reporter.
In addition, rapper 50 Cent appears in the video and calls Slim Shady not a friend, but a psychopath.
The reporter then reappears, saying that the hero’s “crude writing and controversial antics” may have ultimately led to his death, and offers to follow the story.
