Washington lost to the New York Rangers in the second game of the NHL playoffs.
The hosts won the second match of the opening round of the Stanley Cup at Madison Square Garden with a score of 4:3.
Washington’s Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin made one shot on goal and was not effective. In the second period, with the score 3:2, Ovechkin lost the puck in the center of the ice, after which the hosts, in the minority, scored the fourth goal, which became the winning goal.
The score in the best-of-five series was 2–0 in favor of the Rangers. The next two matches will take place in Washington.
