Moscow. 26 April. INTERFAX.RU – The Russian Government will allocate up to 490 million rubles to the Orenburg region. to provide social support measures to those affected by the flood, follows from the government decree published on the legal information portal.

The funds will be allocated by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations from the reserve fund of the Cabinet of Ministers for further transfer to the budget of the Orenburg region. They will be used to provide “one-time financial assistance to citizens living in residential premises affected by floods,” including those who lost their essential property due to the flood.

The Orenburg region has faced the worst flood in recent decades; a regional emergency regime has been in effect in the region since April 4. On April 7, the government commission decided to classify the flood in the Orenburg region as a federal emergency. Regional authorities estimate the damage from the flood at 40 billion rubles.

The most difficult situation arose in Orsk, where a dam broke on April 5, and also in Orenburg.
