This gesture was noted https://twitter.com/gdb/status/1783234941842518414 in Society X, President and co-founder of OpenAI Greg Brockman – he showed a photo from the event, which was also attended by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. The H200 is Nvidia’s newest and most powerful AI accelerator, marking a step forward in AI technology. And this is a turning point for OpenAI, which has the most powerful hardware in the world for its purposes. The key innovation of the Nvidia H200 compared to its predecessor the H100 was the integration of HBM3e memory, which helped increase memory bandwidth by 1.4 times, and its volume increased to 141 GB.

For OpenAI, the acquisition of H200 was an important strategic step that will expand the company’s capabilities and help in the development of the GPT-5 neural network – the accelerator’s output is intended to become a catalyst for the AI industry, contributing to breakthroughs in various fields of science. The H100 saw significant demand leading to a shortage of accelerators, and Nvidia is hoping to avoid a repeat of the same situation with the new model by partnering with global system manufacturers and cloud providers, but it remains to be seen whether this strategy will work as actual availability of the H200 remains problem.

The personal delivery of the Nvidia H200 to OpenAI by CEO Jensen Huang is not just a symbolic gesture of partnership, but perhaps evidence of the important role that cutting-edge hardware plays in the development of AI technologies.
