User MauroNL noticed that the Polish People Can Fly canceled the development of the adventure role-playing action game with cooperative elements Project Dagger. According to the company document, production was curtailed at the beginning of the month.
Initially, the title was going to be published by Take-Two Interactive, but it abandoned it in the fall of 2022. At that time, Project Dagger was in pre-production, and PCF said that it would try to release the game itself or turn to another publisher.
A report from People Can Fly states that the studio has stopped development of Project Dagger after re-evaluating the scope of the project and its commercial potential. The company noted that it would lose between $17 and $20 million by canceling the development.
The Polish publication Bankier.pl wrote about a pause in the development of Project Dagger last fall, but now the game has been canceled altogether. Initially, the action was planned to be released in 2025-2026.
Now, among other things, People Can Fly is making an exclusive for Xbox, codenamed Project Maverick. According to rumors, this is an online PvP shooter based on Unreal Engine 5.
