Poland is ready to provide assistance to Ukraine in the return to the country of men of military age who will be able to take part in hostilities. Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh announced this on Wednesday, April 24, Reuters reports.

The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense believes that many Poles are outraged by seeing young Ukrainian men in hotels and cafes. He also added that in the past Poland had already offered Ukraine assistance in the return of those subject to military service.

When asked how Poland would react if Kyiv asked for help in returning Ukrainian men, the minister replied: “Any support is possible.”

The day before, the Ukrainian government announced that passports for men of military age would be issued only within the country, and not at foreign diplomatic missions. Thus, men aged 18 to 59 years living abroad will not be able to renew their passports or obtain new ones.

Currently, about 4.3 million Ukrainians live in the countries of the European Union, of which about 860 thousand are adult men. There are 950 thousand Ukrainians in temporary status in Poland.
