On April 25, training at the Farmer’s School began for the third time in Primorye. The educational project of Rosselkhozbank, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Primorsky Territory and the Primorsky State Technical University will train 30 people in the specialties: “Feed production” and “Processing of dairy products”. In 2.5-3 months, students will have to defend their business plans before an expert commission, receive professional retraining diplomas and begin creating new agricultural facilities, OTV reports.

Elena Bakumenko, director of the Primorsky branch of Rosselkhozbank:

– Training of personnel for agricultural production is one of the priorities of the country’s domestic policy, and its importance cannot be overestimated. This is an integral component of the development of the industry, even if we are still talking about very young farmers and farms, they also make their contribution. The role of education in modern agriculture is great: new technologies, varieties and hybrids of plants, animal breeds are coming to agribusiness, digitalization is being actively introduced, and education must keep up with this dynamic rhythm. Today, in order to work effectively, you need to have good basic knowledge and constantly keep your nose to the wind of modern trends, and we are very glad that thanks to our partners, specialized agricultural universities, the bank can contribute to these processes.

Andrey Bronts, Minister of Agriculture of the Primorsky Territory:

– Agriculture is an important and necessary segment of the economy; the demand for its products always remains high. It should be noted that Primorsky Krai is one of the regions of Russia that demonstrates the confident development of the agro-industrial complex. The demand of agricultural organizations for personnel is quite high; in addition, there is a shortage of young specialists. The problem is due to several factors. Firstly, the outflow of young people to large cities, where developed infrastructure and living standards meet modern needs. Secondly, stereotypes about the so-called lack of prestige of agricultural professions. Today, agriculture is a modern, developed innovative industry, led by advanced technologies and modern equipment. Many large agricultural organizations, understanding the need to have highly qualified personnel, are trying to support agricultural universities in the educational process, thereby involving students in the process of real production. Students are offered places for practical training with the possibility of further employment, various master classes, trainings, etc. The participation of small businesses in the educational process allows them to increase their financial literacy and contributes to the creation of new profitable farms.

Andrey Komin, rector of Primorsky State Technical University:

– It should also be noted that it is not surprising that many people want to work in agriculture. In the event of any shock, crop production and livestock production are almost the first to receive government support and attention.

Students acquire theoretical training, study the legal aspects of farming, financial business models, marketing basics, get acquainted with the latest agricultural technologies, undergo training at leading enterprises in the industry, and learn to cooperate with large holdings. The course ends with the defense of business plans.

During the previous streams in the Primorsky Territory, the “Farmer School” has already trained 75 qualified farmers for the local agro-industrial complex.

33 constituent entities of the Russian Federation are participating in the new “Farmer School” stream, including 8 for the first time. The total number of students is about 950 people.

Since September 2020, the Russian Agricultural Bank has launched a training stream at the “Farmer School” for the 9th time. Over the previous 8 waves, over 5,500 people completed the course and began implementing business projects in agriculture. Taking into account eight new subjects for the project, the project has already covered 66 regions.
