The all-Russian public movement “Veterans of Russia” appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with a request to consider the issue of granting citizenship to SVO volunteer from Serbia Aleksandar Jokic.

Alexander Jokic, who was a volunteer of the SVO for two years, tried to obtain Russian citizenship four times already, but without success, the press service of the movement explained. He faces a prison term in his homeland for mercenarism, and each refusal was due to the fact that his contract for military service was concluded with the DPR, and not with the Russian Armed Forces.

A Serbian volunteer arrived in Donbass to defend the state and citizens, fought in Mariupol and on the Ugledar front, was wounded and awarded awards for his courage.

Chairman of the All-Russian public movement “Veterans of Russia” and volunteer of the Northern Military District Ildar Rezyapov emphasized:

“Alexander Jokic took risks every day to help our country. Despite all the difficulties, he supports Russia and carried out combat missions in the zone of a special military operation.”

Also, within the framework of this issue, an appeal was sent to the head of the Directorate for Migration Issues of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow, police colonel Dmitry Sergienko with a request to take personal control of this situation.

The appeal of “Veterans of Russia” demonstrates the need for attention to the fate of people who defend the interests and security of Russia, even if they came from other countries.
