To protect themselves from the actions of criminals, citizens should remember that real bank employees never demand that any financial transactions be performed.

Thus, a 26-year-old resident of Tambov transferred his savings to scammers within 24 hours, and when he realized that he had become a victim, he contacted the police.

The police found out that on April 22, the applicant’s mobile phone received a call from an unknown caller. A bank employee allegedly entered into a dialogue with the young man, who reported an attempt to obtain a loan in his name by proxy. When the victim denied this information, the “bank employee” connected him with another interlocutor – allegedly a law enforcement officer. He, in turn, said that the department is working to prevent this unauthorized operation. The victim believed and transferred 270 thousand rubles from his savings to other accounts that were indicated to him earlier, so he thought that he would save his money. The next day, the Tambov resident went to the bank branch, where he issued credit obligations in the amount of 800 thousand rubles, which he also transferred to the specified accounts.

A criminal case was opened on the fact of fraud under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
