Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Timur Ivanov was detained on suspicion of taking a bribe (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code), the Investigative Committee (IC) reported. The Investigative Committee did not provide details of the case. Law enforcement agencies reported that Ivanov had been under operational development for a long time. Operational support of the criminal case is carried out by the military counterintelligence of the FSB. Now investigative actions are being carried out with Ivanov.

Timur Ivanov has been working as Deputy Minister since 2016. He oversees issues of housing for troops, construction and overhaul of ministry facilities and military mortgages. He also dealt with the construction of the main temple of the armed forces.

In February 2023, the deputy minister came to Ulyanovsk to supervise the construction of a new Suvorov military school in the Zavolzhsky region.
