Moscow police detained a man on suspicion of fraudulently obtaining money and jewelry

Employees of the criminal investigation department of the south-east of Moscow with operatives of the Moscow headquarters detained a suspect in fraud under the pretext of manufacturing jewelry.

It has been previously established that a resident of the capital, through her friends, contacted a jewelry maker to make her a duplicate of a previously lost gold earring with baguette diamonds. They met in a shopping center on Sharikopodshipnikovaya Street, where the woman gave him the original earrings worth 400 thousand rubles, as well as more than 270 thousand rubles for making the order. After some time, the man stopped communicating, after which the citizen contacted the police.

As a result of operational search activities, criminal investigation officers detained a suspect, a 42-year-old man, in Kashirsky Proezd. The attacker disposed of the stolen goods at his own discretion.

“The investigator of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the South-East Administrative District of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud.” The man was charged and a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention,” said Colonel of the Internal Service Vladimir Vasenin, head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow.

The sanction of the article of the Criminal Code for this illegal act provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 6 years.
