Ulyanovsk hosts the Russian Open Cup and All-Russian kickboxing competitions. More than 1000 athletes from all over the country take part in the competition. Competitions opened at the Volga-Sport-Arena Sports Palace.
The opening ceremony of the Russian Kickboxing Cup became a big sports festival, because the competitions are large-scale. The Ulyanovsk region was not chosen as a site by chance – kickboxing in the region is practiced at the highest level.

“Ulyanovsk is our reliable partner on our geographic map of kickboxing. The guys have a professional team and suitable infrastructure.”
Athletes over 18 years old take part in the Russian Kickboxing Cup, and at the All-Russian competitions not only famous martial artists, but also beginners will be able to prove themselves.

“And I am sure that the competitions that we have now organized for you will serve as a start for many future champions who will glorify our Russia.”
Kickboxers from all over the country and beyond came to Ulyanovsk to compete. Due to the fact that the tournament is held in an open format, athletes from Algeria, Azerbaijan and Belarus will take part in it. The latter came with a large delegation – 45 people.

“I am very glad to take part in international competitions, because, first of all, this is an integral experience that you cannot get within your own country. It’s very interesting to compete with athletes of different levels, representatives of different countries.”
The Russian Open Cup in Ulyanovsk took place for the fifth time. The number of participants is growing every year. These are qualifying competitions before the Russian Kickboxing Championship, which will be held in May this year in Dagestan.
Vladimir SHEYANOV – CHAIRMAN OF THE KICKBOXING FEDERATION OF THE ULYANOVSK REGION, HEAD OF THE ULYANOVSK MARTIAL ARTS PALACE:
“In kickboxing – all disciplines. You can just watch and see what real kickboxing is, that is, soft sections, solo compositions, and full contact.”
Ulyanovsk athletes, of whom there are about 100 at the competitions, do not stand aside either. From the first days of the tournament, they bring new victories to the region’s treasury. Thus, Karina Anufrieva defeated her rival from St. Petersburg, but she does not plan to stop there.

“Yes, I waited for victory and prepared diligently. My coach, Sergey Evgenievich Zhukov, prepared the food. The fight went well, well, it could have been better.”
Athletes will compete for 8 days in a row: until April 28. On the final day of the competition at 18:00 there will be 4 final fights as part of the Professional Kickboxing Tournament.
